⚱️ JORGE GARCIA
Visual Artist
Jorge Garcia, born in Amora, Portugal, has resided
in Castelo Branco since 2021. In 1986, he founded an Artistic Ceramics
studio in partnership with the ceramist Francisco Vaz.
Since then, he has held several exhibitions in Portuguese galleries and
participated in various competitions and events, including the prominent
'Contemporary Portuguese Ceramic Artists' exhibition, part of the
1st International
Ceramics Seminar - an event that brought together some of the most renowned
ceramists worldwide, under the honorary committee of the President of the Portuguese Republic.
In 2014, he presented the Artistic Ceramics exhibition
Project L in Luanda. That same year,
he joined IMARGEM
(Association of Visual Artists of Almada) and began to promote his work
through various exhibitions promoted by this entity.
He was responsible for organizing the
III Visual Arts Biennial of the
District of Setúbal and became a ceramics instructor
at the beautiful Solar dos Zagallos, where some of his students' works were
integrated into the architecture of this emblematic space in Almada, in
recognition of their high quality.
Since 2020, he has begun to explore other means of
artistic expression beyond ceramics, using oil paints, rocks,
plaster, and various alternative materials.

An exhibition that brought together the most renowned global ceramists under the
honorary committee of the President of the Republic, Prime Minister, and
State Secretary of Culture at the time.
